Going Deeper

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.

May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

John 17:20-23

In The Fullness Of Christ

It is illegal in the Kingdom to be born again and yet carry on with the carnal mind. We will not be able to grow in intimacy with God if we are continually mixing the ‘old man’ with the ‘new man’. The ‘old man’ is suppose to be dead. The ‘old man’ is limited because it is fuelled by human nature. The ‘new man’ has no limitations because he is fuelled by the living Spirit of Jesus Christ.

Revelation and Relationship: Elijah, The Prophets of Baal and Pyro-Theology

“And you call upon the name of your god, and I will call upon the name of the LORD, and the God who answers by fire, he is God.” And all the people answered, “It is well spoken.”

1 Kings 18:24

There are many false gods today: wealth, popularity, sex, drugs, admiration and worship of others etc., etc.

None of these will sustain us in our needs or rescue us from our dead-end lives. All they will do is increase our death drive. All they will do is increase our hunger and thirst for more and more of that which will not satisfy.

1 Kings Chapter 18 we find the story of Elijah and his challenge to the prophets of Baal.

The prophets of Baal called and called. Begged and pleaded to their false god. He gave no answer.

“They raved all afternoon until the time of the evening sacrifice, but still there was no sound, no reply, no response.” – 1 Kings 18:29

The true God answered in fire and in power:

“Immediately the fire of the Lord flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, the wood, the stones, and the dust. It even licked up all the water in the trench!– 1 Kings 18:38

Scripture shows this to be the greatest evidence of legitimacy of The One True God. The Living God comes in Fire and power!

He answered Elijah that way. He came upon the early disciples on the day of Pentecost in this way, with fire and power, baptizing them with the Holy Spirit. He comes upon all believers in the same way.

This is the evidence of God in every believers life: Fire and Power.

The fire of the Holy Spirit manifests it self in peculiar ways sometimes.

Jasmin said something to me once, along these lines, “If you are not involved in the Church, all this stuff would seem weird. We must look like mad men to those looking in on this” (paraphrase)

Does the power of God look strange to those on the outside looking in? Yes it does!

Does the fire of God manifest itself in strange ways? Sure does!

So how are these things not strange to believers? What makes the difference?

Relationship and revelation.

There are several ways that one can react to God’s manifest power.

The people who gathered on that hill with Elijah saw the fire of heaven fall down. Many of those present reacted to this fire by

following Elijah as he put to death the prophets of Baal. (verses 39 & 40)

King Ahab reacted by running back to his wife Jezebel with his tail between his legs. He told her what had happened and together they plotted Elijah’s death. (1 Kings 19:1-2)

Some reacted to the power they saw that day by acknowledging that Yahweh was truly God. (Revelation)

Some reacted to the power they witnessed with fear and anger. Fearful, that THERE IS A TRUE GOD; angry that their false gods were exposed for what they were. Angry that their prophets (keepers of their lies and falsehoods) were slaughtered.

It is the same today. One can see the Holy Spirit move in mighty miracles and react in fear and anger. Many of those who violently oppose the teachings of Jesus fall into this camp. Many others who claim to be Christians do this as well. They discount the works of the Holy Spirit because they would rather make an idol out of a book so they can use it to control and manipulate others. They are fearful of a Living and Active God. They are angry that He would dare move apart from their say so. If the Bible can be used as a static object, rather than “living and active”, then it can be dissected and misinterpreted to give men power over others. When the God of the Bible shows up in power, this disrupts these leaders “teaching” and exposes them as the charlatans that they are. Their natural response to these disruptions (the power of the Holy Spirit) is fear and anger. This is the same religious spirit that moved in King Ahab and Jezebel, the same religious spirit that moved within the Pharisees and Sadducees who put Jesus to death.

Some of those who witnessed the fire of God fall upon Elijah’s sacrifice continued on in their sin and pride while others humbled themselves and submitted and committed their lives to the one true God (Relationship).

“And when all the people saw it, they fell face down on the ground and cried out, “The Lord—he is God! Yes, the Lord is God!”– 1 Kings 18:39

And God told Elijah, “... yet I will preserve 7000 others in Israel who have never bowed to Baal or kissed him.” (1 Kings 19:18)

How will you react to the Living God today? How will you react to His calling, to His power?

The Holy Spirit falls in fire on the sacrifice of obedience. He consumes the sacrifice presented. In Elijah’s day the sacrifice was the flesh and blood of bulls and goats. On the day of Pentecost it was the living sacrifice of the early believers. In both cases the fire of the Holy Spirit fell when the followers of the One True God responded in obedience.

Jesus is calling you into relationship with Himself. He died on the cross to purchase your freedom, to free you from the false gods you have aligned yourself with. He died so that you can come into relationship with Him. He rose again so His power can live within you and flow through you.

Jesus is acting right now for your benefit. He is drawing you close to Himself so that you can become who He created you to be. He works in power to draw all of His lost children back to Himself.

This is the character of Father God.

How you respond to this fire is your choice. How you respond to the revelation of Jesus is your choice! You can react in fear and anger or you can react by coming into relationship with the One True God—- Jesus Christ!

The Spirit of God falls like fire on those who are open to Him. He will consume you with fire and power if you call upon His name.

The Bridegroom and His Church: A Teaching On The Song Of Songs

Place me like a seal over your heart,
like a seal on your arm.
For love is as strong as death,
its jealousy as enduring as the grave.
Love flashes like fire,
    the brightest kind of flame.
Many waters cannot quench love,
    nor can rivers drown it.
If a man tried to buy love
    with all his wealth,
his offer would be utterly scorned.

Reason and Reality: belief, dogma, truth and your created value

God made us: invented us as a man invents an engine. A car is made to run on petrol, and it would not run properly on anything else. Now God designed the human machine to run on Himself. He Himself is the fuel our spirits were designed to burn, or the food our spirits were designed to feed on. There is no other. That is why it is just no good asking God to make us happy in our own way without bothering about religion (faith). God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there.”

-C.S Lewis

I often hear the word “dogmatic” being thrown out.

This word is used in a negative sense by people meaning to dominate another person with religious doctrines or belief. People often accuse others of being “dogmatic” when they are simply being upfront and honest.

It’s easy to dismiss someone you disagree with by calling them dogmatic rather than listening to what they are trying to express to you.

We all have free will and can make a choice what to believe.

The Bible is very clear that we can all choose Jesus or reject Him. It is also very clear that our choices have consequences. The principle of “what you sow you reap.” Your current decisions will affect your future reality.

Inaction also has consequences. What we refuse to accept; the truths we reject will alter our future.

Truth is unaffected by your willingness to accept it.

When one speaks it boldly this does not make him dogmatic it makes him honest. Truth is truth!

In this culture of subjective truth how can we say there is black and white truth?

Jesus said “I am the truth”

He came to Earth to make “truth” flesh and blood. Truth was no longer etched in stone but came in the form of a man. Jesus embodied truth in physical form. When Jesus died and was resurrected He gave man the gift of the Holy Spirit so these truths could be carved in our hearts and minds and become part of us.

If there is a “grey” area it is because Jesus is relational.

Truth cannot be watered down or subverted. Jesus never undermines His standard of truth. However Jesus is gracious and patient with us to work out truth in our individual lives through relationship with Him. He is gracious with each man and women to “guide you into all truth” (John 16:13)

There are true forces at work in this world! Forces of light and forces of darkness.

We often choose to forget that there is a spiritual realm. Just because we choose to forget it does not make it any less real.

God made each person unique and special. He created a masterpiece in man.

Think about your ability to love others and receive love. Think about when your heart breaks because of injustice in the world. Those attributes are God-given and part of the divine nature.

When we choose to live as we are created to be then we function how we are designed.

We cannot function as we are designed without being in right relationship with Christ Jesus.

He knows how He made us and how we are to function. When we act and function outside of how we were created we choose dysfunction. When we choose to listen to what others say about us rather than who Jesus says we are, we choose to listen to a foreign voice. A voice that never made us, doesn’t know how we are to function and whose goal is to destroy us.

Satan can not touch God because Christ has already won the victory. So he tries to destroy what God created. He works hard to destroy God’s master piece.

This is how we allow the demonic to get into our lives. Living demonically is simply living, acting and believing something that is outside of our God-given identity. It’s acting outside of our created purpose.

A automobile doesn’t make a very good rolling pin. You could slap some dough outside on the road and drive over it a couple times but those cookies will not taste very good because you are using a car instead of a rolling pin.

The issue is not with the vehicle but with how it is being used. It’s being operated outsides it’s designed function.

It’s the same with us when we operate outside the perimeters of our created purpose.

We can go our own way and listen to the enemy’s voice but in the end we will be a mangled mess just like that dough on the highway. We will be left with a gritty gross taste in our mouths.

Jesus loves you! You are His master piece. He is not against you. He doesn’t want to bring you pain or suffering. Rather He wants to bring you a future and hope (Jeremiah 29:11). He doesn’t want to rain on your parade or suppress you. He is for you and wants what is truly best for your life. You just have to take Him at His word.

Use critical thinking when addressing these truths.

But not the logic of mere man but the logic divinely given by God.

I cannot convince anyone of anything with mere logic but present the truth and trust the Holy Spirit will bring revelation to minds and hearts.

“We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

We can fool ourselves into thinking all kinds of nonsense but the quicker we gather the facts and face the truth the sooner we move on.

Accusing people who have the heart of Christ as being “dogmatic” will not change the truth. It will merely suppress the truth in your own heart and mind.

Truth is truth no matter how much you deny it.

Reject God if you would like but know the full scope of what you are rejecting.

Jesus is Lord and God! He laid down His heavenly rights to humble Himself to live as man. He died a criminals death on the cross to pay the price for all sin. To restore us back to who He created us to be in the beginning. To bring us back to who He designed us to be.

Jesus rose from the dead, beating death! His power releasing us from dead works that keep up in a cycle of slavery and malfunction. His Spirit released to give us the power to be who we were created to be and to walk like He walked!

May the Spirits wind words bring revelation of these truth!

May you make the choice to follow the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). The very Word that fashioned, formed and moulded all life into existence: Jesus Christ!

(Read John Chapter 1!)

You are loved and made for a purpose!

Blessings in the mighty name of Jesus!

“How well I have learned that there is no fence to sit on between heaven and hell. There is a deep, wide gulf, a chasm, and in that chasm is no place for any man.”

My Dear Child: A Conversation with Christ

Do you believe me?

Believe what?

Believe that what I did on the cross really took away your sin?

Well, yeah God. I do!

Then why do you keep identifying with your sin, rather than identifying as being in Christ?

You can’t identify as being in Me and being a sinner. You see my child, when I died on the cross, I took your sin.

My blood paid for your freedom.

I have given you everything.

It is all available to you.

So, why my child, do you keep looking to your sin, which I took instead of looking to me?

Well, I believe you took away my sin God, BUT I’m human. I’m not perfect, I still get angry and hold bitterness and unforgiveness, I’m lazy and give into an attitude a lot of the time and even lash out once and a while.

God, you see, I still sin.

So maybe I’m not a sinner but I still sin.

You see me. You know. I will never measure up to your standard God.

MY CHILD:

I LOVE YOU!

I LOVE YOU!

I LOVE YOU!

Because of My death, My resurrection and My ascension. I now sit here at the right hand of the Father. My blood has been put on the mercy seat so that everything in Heaven and Earth would be accessible to YOU!

This is your inheritance.

Take it.

Believe it.

I paid for your freedom.

Why do you insist on taking your old sinful nature and habits and bringing them into this new life I have given you?

Stop it!

Let them die and be in Christ.

So, you can truly live in the freedom I have paid a high price to give to you.

Believe me!

Believe my work!

Believe what I say about you!
